Laser Hair Removal
Traditional hair removal techniques, such as shaving, plucking and waxing, provide only temporary relief. Electrolysis, although it can result in lessening hair growth, often requires years of ongoing and frequently painful treatments. Ingrown hairs, skin infections, and allergic reactions are common side effects of all these hair removal methods. Our LightSheer laser system safely removes unwanted body hair without damaging the delicate pores and structures of the skin. Many facial and bikini area treatments can be completed in about ten minutes; legs and larger areas can take longer.
The process is simple. No painful waxing is necessary beforehand and there is no need to suffer through growing out the hair first. Anesthesia is not required, and most individuals experience no more than a slight pinching sensation as the laser pulses are applied. Some parts of the body do tend to be more sensitive than others, and sometimes minor redness and/or swelling will occur for a few hours afterwards.
How many sessions are needed?
The number of sessions will vary for each individual and will also depend upon where the hair is located on the body. During the initial visit, the LightSheer laser system removes the visible hair and disables those follicles in the "active" phase of the growth cycle. Follicles in the "resting" phase will not be affected. Eventually, as these dormant hairs become active and begin to grow, additional sessions may be desired. Over time, hair growth will be slower and finer.
Which skin types can be treated with laser hair removal?
The LightSheer laser allows us to safely and effectively treat almost any skin type, from white skin to darker skin. However, only dark hairs can be detected and treated by the laser, so blond and gray hairs will not be affected by treatments.
